F.I.R.S.T.
Robotics Team

Oakbotics

In Grade 11 and 12 of high school, I was a part of the robotics team Oakbotics 3739. This team competed in the international robotics competition known as F.I.R.S.T Robotics. Each year a new game is introduced for each team's robotic design to compete in. For each game, our team goes through the process of designing, fabricating, testing and integrating different aspects of the robot to form a complete build. This involves hands on work with mechanical/electrical systems, 3D modelling with Solidworks, and programming with Java. In Grade 12 I was the senior high school CAD Leader assisting with meetings, team and sponsorship presentations, new student mentoring, and robot design/manufacturing. Unfortunately in 2020 the competition was cancelled due to the COVID outbreak, but our team was still able to complete our build and test the robot's performance.
