The Iron Man suit is getting an upgrade from cardboard to 3-D printed PLA filament. Currently this project is focused on the printing and motorization of the helmet. Two servos located at the widows peak of the helmet control arms attached to the mask to retract and close. I have some experience using an Arduino Uno microcontroller, however, these servos are hotwired for DC and will be controlled with the use of relays, limit switches and reed switches. Pieces in progress include parts printed for the arc reactor, as well as a complete hand. July 2021 I finally gave it a much needed gold and hot rod red finish, along with some LED cosplay eyes. Additionally, I dove into surface modelling to create a digital model of the Iron Man helmet based off of orthographic images.
